I've always loved to craft but didn't seriously pursue it until about fifteen years ago when I became hooked on the craft shows HGTV used to show. I first saw Tim Holtz on The Carol Duval Show and fell in love with his crafty style. I started blogging in March of 2011 and opened an Etsy store in August of 2014.
My style is always changing, but my current favorite is shabby chic. I love distressed edges, torn paper, crackle paste, shabby stitching, lots of flowers and ribbon. I admire people who can do CAS because I just can't. I have to have layers...big open areas on a card make me break into a sweat. I have an almost compulsive need to keep adding embellishments!!
I love to make cards and home decor items for family and friends. I have a serious die, stamp and crinkle ribbon addiction and probably have enough paper to cover the earth...yet I still keep buying more (not quite hoarder status, but close ;). I'm so excited to begin this journey with Diana and her new design team!!

My name is Katie Ota from the blog KatieO's.  I have two girls who live in Los Angeles and a son who is a senior in high school.  When my eldest daughter, Emily was born, I started scrapbooking.  I gave up scrapbooking after my third child was born and concentrated on card making.  I started my blog KatieO's Creations in October 2010.
Lately, I have been making a lot of banners and decorations.  Now that my kids are more independent, I plan to pick up scrapbooking again. I love to embellish with ribbons and shaped gems.
When I am not crafting, I like to be in the kitchen cooking and baking.

I have been married to my wonderful husband and best friend since 1980 and we have two lovely daughters, Julie and Jenna.  We also have two rescued Siberian Huskies that we adore!  I have lived in New Jersey, USA, my whole life and here in Toms River, NJ since 2000.  I have always loved crafting and actually started my very first scrapbook back when I was in grade school.  I was introduced to Creative Memories back in 1997 and have been a scrapbooker ever since!  I started making cards for Operation Write Home a few years ago and found that I love making cards too!  I love the ribbons that DL.ART sells and I am very excited to be part of the Design Team!!

I have been on a few design teams, but this is my first ever team in the blog world. While in the process of deciding to have a design team I started making crinkle ribbon-- Long story short my design team will now be showing projects using my crinkle ribbon and twine from my DL.ART web store. I will also be having guest designers, if you are not already on the guest designer list and you would like to be send me an E-mail. My contact info is at the top of the blog.
