GET WELL CARD

Had an art reception to go to today. It was really a lot of fun. Saw a lot of new faces that are now members of the Art League.

I created this card for a lady I've met on the blogs, whose sister had surgery earlier in the week I will get this in the mail tomorrow.
I hope she gets well soon.

I wanted it to be simple:
Here is the recipe: A2 (4/14 x 5 1/2)
Card stock Georgia pacific white -this paper is a bit thin for making cards so
the embossing is both inside the card and on the outside of the cover.
Embossing folder :is from the Asian bundle
Core' dinations -- two tones of blue
cartridge Pagoda.
ATG gun and foam tape

Your Story Part 2

I had put captions on this video - but they did not show up on the video- When you hear the term heating rack I really meant to say cooling rack.  There is one point where I talk about a cover the measurement should be 6 inches not 6 1/4, which is great because you can get 4 covers out of a 12 x12 sheet of card stock.
There were some other comments, but they were only measurements if you have questions about any of the measurements or products just ask and leave me a way to get the answer back to you.   Thanks for watching my video

Your Story

If you have been keeping up with any of this blog you know my "Your Story" arrived a couple of weeks ago - I've been trying to get video's up----- they take forever to upload. I must be doing something wrong

Anyway, Here is the first part of a two part video on the Your Story -- I got this for $34.99 not counting the cartridges they varied in price.  The second part will show how to use it.  Hope you enjoy the video

TIME FOR TEA

That little critter character that I found in my scrap pile has made its way into a Tea card. This is from a Child's year  The  card  creative feature I used K& Co. double sided paper for the card and for the inside I cut another card in white and used half of it.  The card itself is 51/2 and the critter is 3 inches I used the G studio glitter glue on the heart and Stickles (black diamond) on the antennas. The ribbon at the top is from Michaels  the $1 bins.  I was so inspired from all the links over at MPS for the hop that I had to do a card tonight.

Neighbor's visit

I was cooking dinner tonight when Our neighbor who has been living in New York for the past three years showed up, so we had him stay for dinner and this is all I will be posting tonight -- Hopefully a new card tomorrow and new elements for that file folder

FILE FOLDER

Today I used the DCWV 12 x24 paper to create a file folder.
I used the gypsy to do the design. I rotated it 90 degrees to make it as large as possible. The largest I could get it was 17.50 to fit the width of the mat. Now I have a file folder with a design instead of the standard. I used the layer button to make the Flourish. When you do this--- you need to make sure you rotate the layer also or it will not fit correctly. I tried to hide the lines on the fold of the file, I was not successful. I will try at some other point.

J's haul

Here are the goodies I got at Joann's today. It is 4:30 the water is still not on, but it was a beautiful drive over to Joann's and the store was not too crowded.  The other brand glitter glue is a bit harder to squeeze, then the name brand. I hope you enjoy the video, I hope I get better at making them.  You'll never guess what I did right after I made the video.  I open the album to look inside and I laid the back cover on the glitter glue, Lucky for me there was a plastic cover on it -- and thank goodness for baby wipes (hence still no water).

More finds from the scrap pile

Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet-- I think I was experimenting with my cricut . I wanted to post something today, so here it is . They are just the cutest images! I did get my first workout of the year in  today. (Ta Da)  Found out today our water will be shut off for 6 hours tomorrow.  I have spent most of the day doing laundry. Because of the water situation, I think it calls for a day out of town Joann's is 45 miles from where we live, sounds like a plan. There is a sale going and I also have some coupons.  I'll let you know how things go tomorrow.

Totally finished
Something was missing, I decided to add the golf club to the front of the card

I built the inside of the card up with hills from country life, and varied the sizes with different textures and colors of paper, the paper was from K& Co, Bazille, DCWV and Core'dinations. The golf accessories were from Everyday Paper Dolls. The pond and sign are from Sponge Bob.
Once it was all glued down on the paper with ATG tape I trimmed the excess off.  The border punch used on the front is Rope by Fiskar. The card size is 5X7.

Notice design goes over edge of paper.
This isn't glued down yet this is just all in the placement stage.

Once I trimmed the card I drew in the direction the golf ball traveled, right into the pond.  This card was lot of fun to make

Room organizing? Sponge Bob Found

Hello Thursday,

Hope you are all having a good Day

I have spent most of the day cleaning and  organizing  my art studio (room) I had so many projects going for Christmas  and other functions, I can not believe how quickly it all piled up.  We got some sponge Bob golf balls for Christmas in June 2010--- I'm not sure how that happened-- unfortunately they ended up in what I call the Jelly fish pond -- They are lost never to be seen again.  I am now going to finish making the thank you card and send it because-- SB got lost in my papers and I just found him.  I will post the finished card later this week-- Parts of his legs ( the white part did not cut out so well, so I used a Sakura gelly roll pen to fill it in.

This pile of paper really looks like more than it is there, it is on top of four 12 x12  plastic organizers. It is really hard to throw away some of good quality or pretty paper so I got my punches out. I punched  the scraps in 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, and 2 inche circles put them in snack bags, if sponge bob gets hungry he can eat them later (L.O.L.). They will be ready for future use.

Have a good day and Thanks for stopping in.

New Comers Coffee Cards

Good Wednesday Morning,
Boxed set of Ten cards (4 1/4 x 5 1/2)

I made these cards for the Newcomers coffee. We will be inviting  30 women that are new to our church. I made the boxes using the Martha Stewart score board- it was very easy, all the directions came with it and if you lose them they are  printed on the board.  I determined the size of the box by adding a 1/4 in. to the size of the card and then what ever size you want the sides to be add that 2x  example:

card 4x5  + 1/4 + 1 1/2 in 2x=  the 4 side would be   7 1/4
                                                 the 5 side would be  8 1/4

I had the stamp for the back of my card made by a local printer.

Mushroom design/ Fungus Fair (finished)

Good Morning,

Here is the Mushroom design for the Fungus Fair I finished it last night matted and framed it.
I will deliver it in about an hour. This was such a fun project. I used paisley and Primary colors in a muted hue and the idea was more of a pop art theme. I am really happy with this piece. I thought it might be a little too busy at first, but I think that adds to the character
