Wednesday- Hoarders and challenges


The other day I happened across a show on TV, while I was putting the OWH cards together. I spent a few hours watching hoarders.  I was fascinated and saddened. They actually call these people SICK
Sensitive, Intelligent, Creative and  I think the K stands for knowledgeable, but don't hold me to that.  I had heard of this show before, but had never watched it one of the episodes was about a man who hoarded rats, of all things. They became like his family after his wife ( age 39) had died of a sudden heart attack, they became his companions and family.  The two that he started with soon became 2,000.  When the neighbors started complaining about rats by his house Authorities came. They treated the man very humanely and they were very concerned with his pet rats. These actually were pets, they were domesticated rats. At the end of the show they had found homes for 500 of the rats so far, which in so doing this, is helping this man through his grieving process.  I highly recommend watching at least one of these episodes-- What did I do ?

Put it this way, it was trash day in our neighborhood that night, I even borrowed my neighbors garbage can.
I have another load for the women's shelter and some for goodwill. It's not like I have a lot of stuff, but I have what I need and for that, I am grateful .  That is why I want to share the card I made today. Have a SUNNY Day

    Love your card- especially the flower background paper. I watch Hoarders too. My neighbor is a borderline hoarder- boxes and boxes piled up in her living room with just a small space free on the couch and a path to the TV and a path to the kitchen. She's a wonderful lady, but it's kind of sad.

    Hoarders always makes me a bit sad too. It's a bit like a train wreck, you almost can't make yourself look away. Oh a brighter note, your card is very pretty and uplifting! Thanks for joining our challenge this week at FCCB!

    You did a great job for this challenge. Every time I watch that show I ALWAYS end up cleaning my house afterwards. I watch it often and it is so sad to see, but gosh, it makes me want to clean and get rid of things. On another note,

    Love this happy card with the blue accent corner. It really makes the yellow pop.

    I watch Hoarders each week it's on. The one with the rats was very tame compared to some of the others. The ones that lose their kids but won't throw away a Big Gulp cup....I think those poor people are sick. :( It makes me sad.
