TUESDAY - CELEBRATE THE OCCASION- Sketch Challenge #28

This is going to be so much fun!!!! We have a sketch challenge for you.  Make sure you go by and see all the designers work and be sure and link up your  own project by Sunday September 4th @ 11:59 pm EST, so that you may have a chance at our monthly drawing  at CTO

I used white card stock as my base this card is 4.25x4.25 (it will fit in a standard A2 size envelope)
I cut a piece of Basic grey patterned paper 4.25x2.25, I then ATG'ed (I made this word up, and I like it) it down.
I used extreme adhesive to hold the ribbon, I then stamped in the corner with an Inkadinkadoo stamp Happy Birthday using Jenni Bowlin "soap powder", I just love the names she gives her colors. I then used "chicken Feed" for the Stampendous butterfly.  I used a white sakura gel pen for the stitching on the top and a blue whispers /strokes pen on the bottom.

To check out all the other designers go to CTO

Constructive criticism on my card from me

This was my first attempt, I was not real happy with how this card came out, but I thought I would share it with you any way. On the right side at the bottom I was using a template and my ink bled and spread underneath, so I thought if I used stickles I could cover it up, it didn't work.  The card stock I used was a textured Bazzill and the stamp did not look crisp it also looked like it puddled within the texture of the cardstock.  The colors were ok, but it just didn't look cheerful enough to me to be a birthday card. Now you have my take on my mistake -- I always learn from mistakes-- I hope this sheds some light for you, before you make this mistake.  Oh yes it is a 6X6 which is difficult to find envelopes for unless you make your own.  Postage is always more on this size card.

I did not use a cricut for this card - It seems strange when I don't.

  3. I really like the clean look of the pretty blue card! Sometimes you can cover up the mistake and it actually looks better than if you didn't make it- and other times you just need to scrap it- live and learn :)Amy

  10. I love this card, Diana...actually I love both of them! The colors are so beautiful! I've had ink troubles like that before...it is sooo frustrating. I know what you mean about it being strange when you don't use Cricut for a card! :)

  15. I love the cards. I really like the blue one, very clean lines. But I also like the colors of the 1st card attempted, very fall. I always look at mistakes as creative opportunities that sometimes work and sometimes doesnt. Thanks for sharing both cards
