Happy July 1--- Monday

CLICK HERE for the DL.ART THANKFUL THURSDAY JUNE CHALLENGE #112 Patriotic,  ending 11:55 pm PST July9, 2013

Hi Friends,

Can you believe it?  We are half way through the year.  Where did June go?  We are busting at the seams with tourists now.  My strategy for the summer is to always do everything in the morning and be home by 3 at the very latest.  Don't get me wrong I am not complaining about tourists.  I meet a lot of wonderful people from all over the world, it just takes longer to get things done in the summer.
With that said, I would like to share with you a fourth of July card, after all it is only three days away.

The flag image is one of my favorites off of the "Enjoy the seasons Cricut imagine cartridge.  My background is made with mixing gesso and jenny Bowlin "spice tin" re-inker. I painted it onto PTI stampers select white card stock. I loved the way it felt going on the paper it was smooth and did not pull and because I was using gesso I was not using my good sable brushes I was using an inexpensive hobby brush. I was pretty happy with the brush strokes also. The stamp set I used is "embroidered blooms" and my base card stock is pure poppy.  I also used a little jeweled creation from creative inspirations paint.

Challenges:
BBTB2::red white and blue
MIM:AG

Have a blessed day, Diana

  1. Great card, Diana! Don't think I'll do this challenge as don't own any gesso (and not sure I'd use it any other time. Maybe I should watch Ashley's video ~ it might change my mind! Happy 4th!

  25. Love the background you made with the paint-very striking and unique! It sets off the flags wonderfully. Thanks for playing with us at BBTB2 and hope you have a great 4th of July! (I know what you mean about the tourists-I grew up in a tourist town on Lake of the Ozarks and we planned all errands for early in the day in the summer, as the roads would be absolutely clogged later on!)
