Hi Friends,

Before I tell you about my card, I just wanted to say, there is about 8 hours left for the August linky party and I am 12 short of 700 entries ---- I can't believe it, Thank you so much ahead of time. I know I will thank you again. If I go over 700, I will do 2 drawings the second prize will be similar, but not the same

I have a cute little card for you. I have had this cartridge for quite awhile and Today I said as soon as I get my mess cleaned up I am going to work on something with this teddy bear Parade cartridge.. I just fell in love with the mermaid outfit so it worked in well for theBITTEN BY THE BUG 2 challenge. The big sun worked well for the heat wave over at FCC. I used my fiskars wave border punch with some K& Co paper to fit in with Docerela creations challenge, and the sentiment I used worked its way right in to Die Cuttin' Divas. I fussy cut the top part of the paper out and double pop dotted my sun on and then slid my little teddy bear mermaid under the sun. I added the clover colored skittles for some bubble effect in the waves. The Designer paper I used is MME Indie Chic Citron. I added some white sakura gel pen to the leaves to give some added contrast
I hope you like my card I really had fun making this one. The pattern on my TBM is from Imagine more (IC)

Hi Friends,
Welcome to week two of DL.ART THANKFUL THURSDAY, You still have some time to enter the back to school challenge for a chance to win these awesome pens. I hope you get a chance to enter, I really love working with them and the customer service is great.

We have been having our typical beautiful end of summer weather, mid 70's, kid's are back in school and tourist season has ended. Now I can get across town in 6 minutes instead of 45. I love it!! I have been so super busy lately with dinners and meetings and pretty tired at the end of the day, that I just find it hard to get working on anything to do with art except for the commissions I need to finish. I am happy to say that I have been able to comment on blogs a little easier, if I go through bloglovin' for those of you that are on bloglovin'. There is really no rhyme or reason as to who, why or when I can comment on someones blog. If there were a pattern, I could figure it out, but there isn't-- maybe blogger is doing random.org for commenting. Who knows. I am not going to take it personal, It is what it is.. I will just have to make the best of it and be thankful, after all today is Thankful Thursday. The good news, this past Saturday they opened the bridge that has been under construction for a couple of years. Yeah! that should relieve a lot of the traffic.

DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge #116

THEME: Back to school

I made four back to school cards -- a series kind of thing- I really had crafters block on this one. Once I started playing with the pens, the idea came to me. Back to school means fall is here and I just want to enjoy the last days of summer. This past week the liquid amber in our front yard has dropped leaves and I am anticipating an early fall. A quarter of the leaves on the tree have changed color

I used the Locker talk cartridge for the fun locker and lock image and then colored them in with Copic markers. How fun was this? Lots

I did the same thing with the little milk carton

For this chalk board I used DCWV chalkboard paper and the background was drawn with the CRI-KIT gel pen, then cut out I used a prismacolor pen to color in the areas that were drawn, I am very happy with these results

For the finally I just had to use my favorite color, again I used the copic markers on this one. I love that the Cri-KIT pens make the lines for me it is almost like a coloring book

MOJO- Round or square

Hi Friends,

All the cards I did on the weekend wore me out, but I thought I would get my mojo in today. I still have a big craft mess to clean up because I have been busy with other fun stuff. My base is Bazzill the dp is from authentique Free bird. The crinkle ribbon is from My craft spot cranberry.

I always love these round or square sketch challenges, because I don't normally make round or square cards.

I forget where the butterfly came from I found it laying in my scrap pile without the antennae so I drew them with a gel pen and I accented the oval which is from verve a cut above die. All my other cuts are form the art philosophy cartridge. This is a must have car, I think if I could only keep one, this would be it. I added three starry night stickles for accent also. My sentiment is from PTI on my couch.

Hi Friends,

I was really hopping on Saturday. Here are the ten projects I made and one I just made for tomorrow. Which really should have been first. ha ha. Originally I was going to take a picture of the mess I left behind, which is still waiting for me to cleanup, but I decided it would be nicer to see all the pretty things I did and I will just take care of the mess today!! because I was out of town all day yesterday. I have not been around much lately in case any of you have missed me, sorry about that, but "life is what happens while your doing other things" (John Lennon)

Anyway, it was a lot of fun.

The last and first of the challenges.

This is a sketch and color challenge I chose the pallet smokey shadow, autumn rose, soft stone, ocean tide and canyon clay.

For the base of my card I used stampers select white. I used asian fusion for the sentiment with smokey shadow ink and the accent is from on my couch.

Here's some inspiration from me for you:

Don't you think everyone likes hearts?

This can either be worn as a necklace or a pendant

I love how it came out I hope you will give it a try. It is easy and fun
I used creative inspirations resinesence and gold sparkle deliquesce and other items.
I used red colored alchol ink to change the color.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with this week's challenge!!
Remember you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects but if you have them we would LOVE to see how you used them!!

SAF- 2013 TEA DYEING TECHNIQUE.

I tea dyed all the felt that you see here. I let it soak in the tea for the better part of the day and then hung it out to dry.

I used Vanilla cream card stock and funky florals die cut. The burlap and button were from my stash. Actually come to think of it I think that button is the one my husband gave me and asked me to sew it on his shirt. Oh well i think it looks good here. oops!! I forgot he follows my blog I will see if he read this post or not. sentiment embroidered blooms and ripe avocado ink

SAF 2013 SWEET SUGAR COATED EMBELLISHMENTS

For this one I went with stampers select white and used atg tape and put my burgundy glitter from Creative inspirations paint on top. I used the up up and away stamp set for the image and sentiment. Memento tuxedo black ink all on top of true black card stock.
I really like the looks of this card very CAS and fun.

here is a close up of the glitter, I love this color. One more challenge and then the closing ceremony- I don't think I have ever done this many posts in one day.

SAF- Limited ingredients challenge

For this one I used stampers select for my base. The back ground is harvest gold. The stamp set I chose was Asian fusion, one of my favorites. I used aqua mist brocade and a 13/4" punch and a 1"strip of soft stone.

SAF- Whipping up scentsational cards.

This is a scratch and sniff tag made from distressed dots paper and the ribbon is Papertrey ink vanilla cream and the tag is from PTI also. The stamp set from my creative time.

I used PTI dark chocolate ink and colored the marshmallows in with a sakura gel pen. I used coffee grounds and cocoa powder in with the clear embossing powder to make the scratch and sniff. It really works Yeah!!

with inks dark chocolate
winter wisteria, ripe avocado, terra cotta tile and classic Kraft. I used a different color for every friend.

How fun was this I planned on making the rings, but the shrinky dink cooled while my DH distracted me you, gotta love em'. He thought I was baking cookies

I will use these to add to tags.

Gratitude: Salt technique with glue

I have used the salt technique with water color before, but this is a twist with glue. This is an A2 card with orange zest mat stampers select white and beautiful blooms stamp set for my re-inkers I used Jenni Bowlin- chicken feed- chili powder and lemon drop. I used the left over inks and dipped my sentiment in them to give the gradation effect

The sentiment and stamp set I used is embroidered blooms. My card stock is plum pudding and I misted on top of stampers select

I used Jenni owlin soap powder and and then went in the centers of the leaves with Jenni Bowlin seed packet

Stamp-A Faire 2013 rolled dough design

Good morning Friends,

I am participating in the PTI Stamp- a- faire today. This is the third project . I am 3 hours behind, because I am on the West coast. I will try to catch up

I used the beautiful blooms die to cut my flowers and Beautiful blooms blooms stamp set. Inks canyon clay and kraft. I used white embossing powder for the hi friend sentiment. My papers and card stock are Beautiful blooms and smokey shadow. I love how this came out. I even finished the inside.

I thought I would get one more entry into Bitten by the bug, maybe two. I am on a roll with these mini note cards and I really love the way they came out. I made a set of four with matching envelopes.

Thanks for all the entries on the last challenge, they were really really fun and Camping was something I really enjoyed doing until I discovered room service. I would never think of eating in bed at home, but somehow having coffee delivered to my room while still in bed is certainly appealing

Hi Friends,

You must all be super busy right now, getting your kids ready for school or if you are teachers getting your classrooms ready. I actually love this time of year. Today was amazing the freeway was hardly busy. I think tourist season is winding down. Also the bridge that has been being reconstructed for the past three years is nearing completion. That will be such a Godsend, when it is finished it will alleviate a lot of traffic. Half of the schools in our area started on Monday and the rest will start next week " Oh Happy day"

I think I know why my mom was always so happy the first week of school -- She was able to have a little bit of time to herself. Can you all relate?

I won these digi stamps a while ago and have just been dying to play with them. Here is one of them. I hope you enjoy it. My papers are from AC card stock Amy Tangerine.

I was actually going to take today off from blogging, but I decided to enter a few challenges and try to leave comments. Did you miss me this morning?

I thought I would do something different. I went for a walk in the neighborhood and found out one of my neighbors got bitten by a dog a few weeks ago (ouch), and it was on a leash. Go figure..., anyway I did not walk down the hill where the dog was, and she is ok.

Hi friends Design challenge day for me over at Creative inspirations paint. I had fun making this back to school card. For the base I used some recollection card stock cut at 11 x 4 1/4 I folded it in half and topped it with some basic grey 5 1/2 by 3 1/2. The cute image, I got from bugaboo, all their stamps are 50% of until Aug 15th. I used my Pink Stamper stamp set "Lunch box thoughts". For the books I painted them with all the colors you see below. I just love the shimmer they gave the books
