BBTB2 challenge "Summer Fun"

Hi Friends,
Welcome to the BBTB2 challenge. Our DT sister Melanie chose the challenge this week, she has challenged us to create a card, layout or project for "Summer fun". I don't normally do layouts, but I recently acquired the Cricut "Artbooking" cartridge and this cartridge makes it so easy - Don't you just love how my layout came out?  All I did was follow the page elements and cut everything at the same size (ratio - to each other). I did add some highlights to the title and some goggles and a water tube turtle. I am not quite sure what you call it, but I thought it was super cute. Thank you so much Melanie, this was a fun challenge for me.


Here is a little tutorial of how I did my tree...


I cut the tree and the leaves out of the same color cardstock. then I colored the layer that would be on the bottom darker. I used the CTMH topiary marker.


I pop dotted it on top of the lighter leaves on top of the tree and offset it to give it more dimension


 I used CTMH chocolate ink and inked the edges of the tree.  These are both very subtle, but give an added element to the design.

    I am so loving this layout Diana!!! I love how you did your tree, and the cute goggles are perfect on this layout as well as the turtle tube! He is just to dang cute!! Such a fun, fun layout!! I've got to get my Artbooking cart back out and do some playing with it. I kinda' forgot about it. lol It's called way to many carts! Hugs, Brenda

    I have Artbooking too and love this layout but have yet to make it. I like the little extras you selected. Very cute turtle
