Pinky- Violet White Washed Thank you

Good Morning Friends,

Today is my Design Day at  Pumpkin Spice Blogspot.
I really like everything about the August card  kit at SPS. You have got to check it out at the bottom of this post. There is so much that comes with it. The cutest part are the little garlands.

The quality of the papers, range of patterns and colors make this a wonderful  kit.

My base card stock is core'dinations white wash #GX-WW 380-12, it is white washed on one side and then  pink-violet on the other, the core is the dark shade, this paper cut like butter in my die cutting machine.

The twine is blossom from the Twinery, there are three colors of twine in the kit but  this was not one of them.  You can always add that to your shopping cart. To order this kit go to Shop Pumpkin Spice

I am always in need of a thank you card, so This is what I came up with, I'm really happy with it.
Can you spot where the Washi tape is in the card?

Shop pumpkin Spice will be carrying a few new lines of stamps, and they will be shipping next month (that is only a few days away) Here is a sneak peek.

Thank you for stopping by to visit,

One more reminder please come by Saturday for our SPS monthly Blog Hop-there will be a prize and a challenge so make sure you come by to visit SPS and the whole design team.

Hi Friends,

I can not believe it!!! I have been blogging for 1 year and 8 months and just realized that my last post was #1000, so that makes this post number 1001.  I don't think I am addicted to blogging, but now I am beginning to wonder. I wasn't even paying attention it just snuck- up on me. ( is snuck  a word?)

Do you think 1,000 in 1 year and 8 months is too much?

I think it calls for a giveaway, don't you?

Check back with me on Thursday

if you have any ideas E-mail me, or leave a comment on this post
I will have to think this one through

Good Afternoon Friends,
Last year for the back to school challenges that were floating around I made the above treat boxes, I just love them.  I didn't think I could even come up with anything better. I remembered last year buying this chalk board paper. Yes, How often do you need chalk board paper?

So, for this year for the back to school challenges, I wanted to give it a less sophisticated and more elementary school look, so I went for the primaries. Yep! Red, yellow, blue and because green is my favorite I had to throw it in the mix.  Instead of using chalk I used Creative Inspiration paint"winter Frost", my friend Jessica from Chick n-scrap sent me.

I knew when I got this paint that I would be using for the next creative inspiration challenge no matter what it would be.

The funny thing also is the treat box came together super easy after having made it a few times.

 Good Morning Friends,

The painters were here at 8:00 on the dot at the front door, I forgot and I saw this guy by the keyhole and I thought someone was trying to break in then, I remembered. Then, the sanding began.  0h, such a strange sound, when it is not yourself sanding paper

Mondays are my day, for me....to set the tone for my our week.  I will be so glad when the painting is finished, which should be today.  It looks so nice and the paint crew have been a real joy.

So anyway what you see up above is home made garland I used the Good old days cartridge made a few small prints (1 inch) printed them out and put them  on twine. Pretty cute aren't they  I stapled them on too the background paper with red staples, nice contrast.

Stamp PTI: up up and away
card stock PTI vintage cream
Everything else was printed from my imagine
twine is from the Twinery cappuccino

Thanks...

Good Evening Friends,
 My last post for today

I needed another thank you card and I wanted it to have a fall look. I bought this fabric a couple of years ago  to make some autumn decorations.  This week I decided to go through my fabrics to see what I have.
I do this periodically. One of my neighbors is a quilter and I give her fabric, if it is good quality and 100% cotton, this falls under that category, but I think I may find some uses for this one myself.  I just bought this spellbinders Label 18 and it worked perfectly for die cutting the fabric. I used the second from the smallest and the second from the largest. Very easy  and my card is an A2 size the card stock is P.T.I. Kraft, smokey gray and harvest gold. See you all real soon. My stamp is Inkadinkadoo and versamark onyx black ink.

Good Morning Friends,

Looks like our high today will be around 67 degrees. I plan on a very relaxing day. Tomorrow the painters finish, they will be painting the doors- the lamp posts and the bridge. They were the nicest workers, but I will be glad to have my life back (haha).  I like John Lennon's saying  "Life is what happens while you are doing other things." So true, try to savor every minute of it, even the not so good stuff, because you learn from it.

This cracks me up I'm doing a card on my family vacation. Mine this summer consisted mainly sitting and sleeping in one chair until my shoulder healed- That was basically 5 weeks of it - This was the not so good stuff. Every time things like this (I really have not had anything nearly this bad) happen, I count my blessings, and usually I can spot someone who is a lot worse off then me and has no hope of ever getting beyond  where they are.

So I am counting my blessings today and I am praying for you that you will be blessed today also,
Hugs, Diana

Falls around the corner

Good Morning Friends,

Fall is around the corner and I am always inspired by the fall colors, textures, patterns and smells.
With the going back to school Frenzy I thought I would decorate a composition notebook for my self.

Composition notebooks of today don't look to bad the way they come,  but isn't it always nice to decorate one and have it be original, totally you. I love hounds tooth and herringbone, they definitely remind me of the fall, but also very masculine. I added a little bit of the lacy paper to give it a slight touch of femininity.  I went for clean and simple look on this.  I cut the little swatches of card stock out at 2 inches square, except for the brick patterned on it would have ruined the design.

I used PTI smokey grey and Kraft, all my other papers are DCWV

The labels are form spellbinders label eighteen

My Twine is from the twinery, cappuccino and my button is from MME indie chic

This will be the journal I will use for the rest of the year, unless I decide to give it away.
I hope you like my project and I hope you have a blessed day, Diana

Guest Designer Spot at Little Scrap Pieces

Good Afternoon Friends,

My friend Karen over at Little Scrap pieces asked me to be her guest designer for today, so I decided to make an easel card. I have not made too many of these and they are very easy, but No that is not  the challenge for you. I feel so blessed and honored that she asked and this is on the heels of celebrating her birthday. This has been quite a fun month

We are calling the challenge  "Make It Sparkle"-  The handmade paper I used is fiber based, it is really fabric paper with sparkles in it. I love the way it came out, my color combo is purple, grey, yellow and orange. I used copic markers on the nail polish and the lipstick to give them dimension.
My sentiments are from Inkadinkadoo. The ribbon is SU so saffron from my friend Cely as a birthday gift, she is a sweetheart to.

I added one pearl on the handbag and 3 black pearls  above the Thank you.
All my card stock (not counting the fabric paper) is from PTI.

Have a great day, Make sure you go by Karen's to see her piece and enter the challenge. I'll come by and see what you created

Good Morning Friends,

DL.ART THANKFUL THURSDAY CHALLENGE:
Use flower on your project/or one 3-D flower
open until 11:59 on September 8, 2012

This was pretty fun ! I met up last March with the Cricut Circle group. Shannon Lerner was our hostess that night. We met in Santa Clara, CA. at Scrapbook island.  These were already pre-cut  for us from the Big Flowers cartridge, all we had to do was put it together.

Here is a close up of the Flower

I don't own this cartridge and I am not sure I would. I'm just not sure how often I would need big flowers, but if you decorate a lot, this might be a fun cartridge to have it went together very quickly

I used my friend Courtney Lee's glue gun, you can't see it (because I didn't photograph it, but her gun had either blue or purple glue in it, I thought it might look o.k. but it didn't. You really need a strong adhesive to hold the petals together. The hot glue worked great, just didn't look all that hot

I won some Cricut bucks there.  I Applied them to my new cricut circle membership.

Enjoy The Process

Good Morning Friends,

I like poetry, and if any of you are familiar with Helen Steiner Rice, you would know that she loved to write poetry and she also made living out of it.

I thought this would be a good one for the sign of the times.  This was written in the 1920's (for an electric company), most people have cell phones now.  Whatever it is you are doing Enjoy the process-- I consider ART a process, but writing is also a form of art so, I say "enjoy the process" whatever it may be for you, at any given time in your life.

The Realtor's lament

The lot was grand; the house was ifne
But there was no electric line!
The yard was big and green the grass,
But, oh alas! there was no gas.
The price was right, a splendid home,
And yet there was no telephone.
It looked supreme when viewed afar,
But who could live with no streetcar!
A house, a lot, a gorgeous place,
But who would sell it in that case,
For who would buy a modern home,
 Without electricity, gas, or phone?

Helen Steiner Rice

My card:
A2
PTI Pure black and vintage cream
Copic markers
Autumn leaves stamps, versamark ink
Challenges:
CTV: marigold royal blue, gray and purple.
LSP: stitching

When you are looking for a house what is it you are looking for?

See you tomorrow for my friend Karen's birthday party hop.

Have a blessed day, Diana
