Link up at  my friend Karen's blog Little Scrap Pieces

This box is so unique, it  opens up to show a gift card holder and the message can go on the white area

The top also comes off,  so you can  put a small gift inside.

very versatile I love it. I am actually going to make a tassel out of twine as soon as I find out what the school colors are, but until then I used my tassel

I was talking with my neighbor and her 11 year old daughter the other day and it turns out, she will be going from middle school to Jr high  (eeks !!!how scary).  Fortunately she is home schooled, so the transition will not be too difficult.   It is a kind of like a  graduation. It looks like there may be a little party. What a better reason to make a 3-D project.  I absolutely love making these 3-D projects, the problem is where to store them. That is why I like making them as gifts. I am blessed by making and giving it the recipient is blessed -- Hey that is called a Win-Win situation. Do you agree?

Greetings from Venice!

CLICK HERE for the  DL.ART Thankful Thursday May Linky  challenge Anything goes ending May 31,

Greetings from Venice!!

Don't you just love sight seeing, hearing and smelling the different sights, sounds and scents from around  the world?   Fortunately for us, we really did not smell the canals in Venice.  I would absolutely love to go there and visit, but according to the gondola singers, they told us, the canals in Venice smell really bad and I have heard that from some of my friends that have visited. So, I had the best of both worlds.  I got to feel like I was in Venice Italy without having to smell the canal.

I took this photo from a little Mexican restaurant at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas, a few years back. It was shortly after 911 and there were very few tourists there at the time. I loved staying at this Hotel.  I had just gotten a new car so I wanted to take it out on the road and see if it was all it was advertised to be.  It was!

Certain printing papers I use in my printer, give different effects.  I used this Kodak paper in my Epson printer and the ink just lays on top for the longest time and then it spreads, giving the picture an aged and diffused look, more like the photos from the 60's.  I like it for this particular application, but it is not my go to printing paper.

I will be sending this to my family members that love to go to Vegas.

It was fun to make!!  For the backing I used PTI stampers select white 110 lb# and the designs down the middle are pillows from the PTI "On the coach" set and the sentiment on the front is from the same set. with canyon clay ink. I drew the lines with a matching gel pen.

I hope you like my post card.

MOJO--and a few others

CLICK HERE for the DL.ART Thankful Thursday  #110 Splash challenge ending June 7, 2013
CLICK HERE for the  DL.ART Thankful Thursday May Linky  challenge Anything goes ending May 31,

Good Afternoon Friends,

I finally got some MOJO in today.

I have to say, I just love our troops !!  I don't like the thought of war, but you have to hand it to our troops they are AWESOME.  I get teary eyed every time I see a soldier in uniform (man or woman) and I will go out of my way to say "thank you for your service to our country."
I hope they don't get sick of it, because I just do it.
One time I was on a flight and some soldiers got on the plane. I told the flight attendant I would like to pay for their meal, but don't let them know. She told me their airline always gives the troops their meals at no charge.  I fly that airline most of the time now-- not to get out of buying the meals (ha ha). I  figure if that airline will pay for the troops meals, somehow my airfare helps cover the cost.

On to my card...the card base is 4.25 x 4.25
the cricut cut is from Create- a -critter 2, found on page 51. I cut it at 2.2. the colors are printed from the imagine - "Imagine more cards" cartridge. The red striped paper is from DCWV cut at 4.25 x 1.75.
the little tag is cut from my stash and I printed always remember with a teal colored gel pen.
The teal pearl and the blue and white striped twine is from Queen and Co., some of my goodies from the trunk show.  I used foam tape to pop up the hat.

Pause Dream, Enjoy: use foam tape

I hope hope you all had a Happy Memorial Day !!!!

Earlier I made a post card for my Brother in, who law will officially be retiring from the Army June 1st.
I made this post card to send to my uncle  who was wounded while serving our country. He saves every card I make him -- and this goes back a long time (I just love him)
He is so much fun  and I always make sure I see him when I go back and visit the family
I used this photo to make the postcard.  I used PTI stampers select for the backing, because it is a weight of 110, very sturdy and great for stamping. I printed the photo on my Epson Artison. The stamped sentiment is from movers and shapers sentiment set. On the back I used Beautiful Blooms, just a single leaf and I went down the center with it using versamark black ink. I just drew the lines for the address, with a sharpie marker

My Brother in law will officially be retiring from the Army June 1st,  although the ceremony was back in February.  I made this post card to send him. I already made and sent him a card
I made this photo into a postcard.  I used PTI stampers select for the backing, because it is a weight of 110 very sturdy and I could also stamp on it. I printed the photo on my Epson Artison. The stamped gratitude is from the Beautiful Blooms set in ripe avocado.
For the back. I just drew the lines, but  the middle divider is a rug from the PTI on my couch set.

Creative Inspiration Paints-- inspired by:Anything goes (week two)

CLICK HERE for the  DL.ART Thankful Thursday May Linky  challenge Anything goes ending May 31,

 ---------------------------------------------

This is week Two  of:
Inspired By: ANYTHING GOES

Here's some inspiration:

I started out with white tags and white ribbon

I painted all four tags varying colors of the sapphire and the buttercup ,
while they were drying, I painted  half the ribbon buttercup and the other half Sapphire

I embossed the black checker board stamped image in black on all the tags, to give them the consistency of a set.  For the Large image I embossed them with white, For the Alice tag I embossed her first and then painted over her. The effect is different than the others.

The embossing powder is super fine  and gives a very detailed image. The stamps I used were very detailed and the images came out beautifully.
I used Crafty Secrets "Greetings from Wonderland" and Stampendous " Wonderland."
The tag die is from PTI
the ribbon is from my stash.

A little tip:
I found that coffee filters work really well for many things, but especially for putting embossing powder  on small areas, I use two per color and the when you are done, you just either throw them away or make flowers out of them. I had so much fun with this project can you tell?
Art and crafting should be fun .

I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with this week's challenge!!
Remember you do not need to use CI Paints on your projects but if you have them we would LOVE to see how you used them!!
As always thanks for stopping by and
have a great and blessed week!

Good Morning friends,

I have a card I made using all PTI products, for my ink I used Ripe avocado. The flowers were stamped and then paper pieced. I like the simple effect this has, even though it took a long time with all the fussy cutting.
The stamp set I used is is called beautiful blooms.

This is a great color combination, the Canyon clay and the pure poppy are real close in saturation, the color is a bit hard to differentiate in the  photo. The pure poppy is the single petal on the pieced flower and the flower at the bottom..

Have a great and blessed Saturday. I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial day weekend.  Keep in your prayers the service men and women, past present and future

We had a beautiful Sunny day here yesterday. I had a  dinner to go to last night, so I started on this at 8:00am.  I ran out of dowels had to go to the craft store to buy more. While I was out I thought I might as well get a gym workout in.   I was running out of time other wise the hosts would have gotten 12 roses. Traffic was horrendous, normally it would take 10 minutes to get to where I was going for dinner, this time it took 45. That is what happens when you live in a tourist town and it is memorial weekend.
Happy memorial Weekend.
I love the holidays.

Last week we had a young mountain lion about a half a mile from our home.  Here is the article link (below). I wonder where the mother is?
Now when I walk out to the mail box, I will always wonder.  He was probably ready to leave home anyway.   It is still pretty living in the woods.  This would not be a reason I would move.  I was hoping to make a card with some sort of cat on it for this post

Hi again Friends,

I Love When I get my MOJO on a Monday,

I used Hey diddle diddle-- I am really loving this cartridge. I have had it for so long and never used it and now I am really loving it.  There are so many cute images on it.  I must have gotten it at the time I was having all the imagine problems. My computer guy says he can fix anything with it now. I am really happy about that.

My nephew and his wife are expecting a little boy. I made this card to give them along with the heirloom afghans that I make for all family members and very very close friends (It is a special stitch I use that I call mine- even though I didn't make it up and it is easy).  It is my go to stitch for special occasions. Babies and weddings.

I hope you like my card-- and luckily the baby isn't due for another few months.  It takes me about three weeks to make the afghan.

First that I have done what is called paper piecing that I know of.  I may have done this before but did not know this is what it was called or even. How intricate you can get it.

The paper I used for this is Indie Chick nutmeg by My Mind's Eye  and the stamp set is Beautiful Blooms by PTI. The Kraft card stock is also PTI. It was fun and I love how it came out.
