Thank you for the sympathy cards

Happy Sunday,

Today marks six months since my mothers passing away, I miss her very much.  I think of her every day just like I did when she was alive, the only difference is, now I can not call her or hear her voice. I'm grateful I kept my answering machine (ha ha). She sang happy birthday to me every year and when I was not home she would leave the message on the answering machine. For my birthday last month I played her birthday greeting to me again. I loved hearing her voice, she sounded like a 20 year old even though she would have been 95 in another month.
Quite an age to accomplish. If I live to be that grand old age I hope I am as sweet as she was.

She lived in a senior community and stayed independent up until a couple of months before she died. The staff would always tell me they wished they had more Aimee's there.  My father passed away over 20 years ago, they were married 54 years. WOW!!!  My mother missed him very much but never became bitter. miserable, or poor me-ish.  She had a few male friends in the next decades, but on the morning she passed away her male friend Mike was visiting having breakfast with her.

She lived a very full life, she was the second oldest of 14 children, her mother died at age 37 and she helped raise her brothers and sisters.
There were seven of us, the twins did not make it, they would have been a couple of years younger than me.

This brings me to the thanking all of you that sent cards, called, emailed me or prayed for me and my family. We appreciate all of you so much.

Here is a video of some of the cards we received. I don't have them all, some are in Michigan and some are packed away.

Bless you all,
DIANA L.

    1. Melissa, I can not even imagine how tough that must have been.
As much as I miss my mom, I feel very blessed to have had her in my life for so many years. I know I will see her again in heaven.

  8. We never 'get over' loosing a loved one, we simply learn to live with the grief. Praying that you know God's peace as you process and come to terms with your mother's passing
