MARCH 1, 2012***THURSDAY*** DL.ART THANKFUL THURSDAY CHALLENGE

Reminder: DL.ART Thankful Thursday challenge ends March 3, 2012: a butterfly and yellow.
The newest challenge is listed below

Good Morning Friends,

My husband and I went out to dinner last night. We figured we had an extra day this year so why not go for a romantic dinner.  We went early so we could watch the sun set over the ocean and enjoy the last day of the month.  I guess a lot of other people thought the same thing.  Luckily I made reservations  and got a great view of the ocean. They got a new chef not too long ago and the food was fantastic.

So onto my design: This is the birthday card that I made for my friend to go with the card set that I made and shared with you all yesterday.  This card was nothing I did at the  MG workshop. The girls are from my stash of pre- made die cuts and so is the couch from about a year ago and then I just layered  different size sheets of MME  Lost and found paper. I really like the way it came out

Here is the  New challenge:
Make a card any occasion, with at least three layers, a bow and some bling.
Now it is your turn-- You will have until March 17, 11:59 to submit your design

Remember a couple of weeks ago I said I was meeting with some designers and you would benefit from it. If you have heard of Monique Griffith you know who I am talking about.  There are four designers that work together to bring cricut kits to you, they consist of  Monique Griffith, Susan Rees, Wendy Lawrence and Becca Rees. You can either purchase the whole kit or just directions for most of them.  click on Monique's name to see more or click on the picture to go to the kit area
I had a video to show you, but it did not come out like I wanted, it is sideways and I can not figure out how to turn it around . So I will just show you what I purchased at the workshop as the giveaway for this challenge.

                                                            THE PRIZE

Is this Awesome or what?  This was designed by Monique's mother Susan Rees.  If you want to check out the kit and more info click on Monique s name above and then go to cricut kits on the menu bar at the top

You do need the cricut cartridge "Summer in Paris" to complete this project. I think you might be able to use  other similar cartridges for the images. Sentimental s might work, I would test the images on a scrap sheet of paper first.

I am entering the birthday card in the following Challenges:
CTO: Birthday with Bling
Scapalicious: Anything goes
Simon Says:Anything goes

Have a blessed day, Diana

Saturday--------GUEST DESIGNER SPOT- -----My Sheri Crafts------this is a sneak peak of the top right hand corner of the layout

Happy Saturday Everyone,

I am so excited to share with you that I was chosen last week to be guest designer at my Sheri crafts and the challenge this week is VACATION. To me vacation (equals) = you need  a layout to preserve the memory of the fun time.   I had really wanted to do a layout anyway, so I decided to do one for a trip we took to Paris for my birthday, one year.  I just love the summer in Paris cartridge, it has such elegant shapes and they remind me of that birthday.  This is a 12x12 scrapbook page.
In the top right hand corner of this layout I chose to place an envelope, which I made with the MS scoreboard from Tim Holtz ideology paper vintage shabby stash , I added a Prima (recollection copy) flower as an accent. I then,  laid a strip of stamps from various places in Parisover  the envelope, this is from Graphics 45 Curtain call
When you open  the envelope you will see lined paper for journal ling- that to is from the graphics 45 collection
On the bottom right I used Tags, bags, boxes and more to make a mirrored tag.  The latches are from fabulous finds and cut from Coredinations paper, the frame (ready for a photograph)  is from Cindy Loo and cut out of DCWV paper stack . There is also a journal-ling tag that can slide out in either direction.

The arch is cut from coredinations and the paper company card stock

The Eiffel tower and the lettering for Paris are both cut from coredinations card stock the lettering is from Storybook  and the Eiffel tower and the arch are from "Summer in Paris Cartridge"

Here is the layout in its entirety-- I can't believe I used 5 cartridges on this, but it is a fact.

I hope you enjoyed this project, I had so much fun making it and it really brought back the memories of the fun birthday.

Have a great day! I cherish every comment thanks for visiting my blog.
