Cricut Stamps idea.

Post a pic on your blog with a full recipe and what this challenge is about.
* This needs to be a new project that you made just for this challenge
* Only one entry per person
* You do not need to be a professional, but you must have a love for the craft.
Challenge make a card scrapbook page or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge, using the specified colors above.

(I name the  challenge is called "Yummy Cool Refreshment")
Right now my favorite Cricut Cartridge is "YUMMY"(IC)The Recipe for this card is:
A2 size card  5.5x4.25( 5.5x 8.5(folded in half to give 4.25)
Card base PTI vintage cream
Chocolate brown (PTI) embossed with cuttlebug folder swirls
to which turquoise grosgrain ribbon was attached

The cartridge that I used was "YUMMY" for the Cricut imagine machine
I layered the ice cream cone
cone cut @3"---------and embossed with diamonds in the rough
each scoop was cut at 2"
The brown scoop was the color from the cart.
the orange scoop was from K &Co. patterned paper Hopscotch -- embossed with spots and dots
the green scoop was the color from the cart.

I cut a shape similar to the cone with the same paper as the orange scoop -- embossed with swiss dots.
smaller size in white and used "So Cool"
from the My Pink Stamper Stamp Set Punny-licious

The Popsicle next to the cone is from K& Co. Grand adhesion's Citronella.
I think it came out great I love the color combination.
I used 4 different embossing folders on this and I think it works real well with each element

I used ATG gun
and 3m Foam tape for adhesives

THURSDAY MORNING- I am so honored to be K. Andrew's guest designer today

I am so honored to be a guest designer, especially for Kristal, when she asked me I thought, “Oh my,   am I “feature worthy?” Then, I thought everyone has a story, so I will share a little bit about me. I am married to my wonderful Husband, we do not have children, but we have 23 nieces and nephews and a niece on the way (approx. October 20th) We live on the Central Coast in CA. I am an exhibiting Artist, the mediums I use are watercolor, acrylic, and sometimes I get crazy and use mixed media.  I serve on the board of Directors for the Santa Cruz Art League; we are a non-profit organization, and a vital part of our art community.

Now, onto my short-lived (so far), blog life. I started my Blog on Jan 1, 2011, within 24 hours, I had a follower, it was so exciting to have a blogger friend and within a month, I had 100.
It was not so much how many friends or followers; it was how nice and helpful everyone was and still is.  I love the blogs that I visit; it is more the people behind the blog, than the blog itself. The blog truly comes to life by reading what the people write.  I am literally in tears at some of the blogs I read, and others I am busting a gut laughing.  When I visit with Kristal, I know that there may be a sermon, and they always have a message to ponder, her writing is terrific and it just keeps me coming back for more.  I thought my blog would be more fine art when I started it, but it has evolved into something different all on its own.  I am still designing, but completely different than I thought it would be. I really feel blessed to know the bloggers that I do, each and everyone of you.  I have learned so much and cannot thank you enough for all the help you have all given me.
Without further ado, here is the project that I am submitting over here at Kristal’s blog click here.
Also, leave a comment here and on my post for a chance to win.

I will be giving away K. Andrew Positive thought stamp set: Which is what I am using on the tutorial

Before I begin I just want to say a little bit about the stamps, They are made in the USA, They are of Highest quality photo-polymer and $1 of each sale goes to the STOREFRONT SHELTER, which is for homeless children and youth.  This charity gives at least 85% or more to those in need.

This is what I started with 6- 2.6" and 3 -3” grayish, and 4 different colored girls.
I was not quite sure how this was going to unfold.   I knew that I wanted it to say “in a sea of grey…. and then, use K. Andrew stamp “”go ahead and wear your rose tinted glasses”. This is from the positive thoughts set

I started playing around with the pictures and moving them around, Like I say this was an idea I had I just needed to move them around to see how it would all work out. I had thought of using an A7 card because I had so many girls.  Then, I decide the idea would work better on an A2 4.25x5.5, it would look more closed in with all the gray images.

Once I had the people where I wanted them, then I needed to decide where the type would go.

I tried the Right  top, Left bottom R. bottom; I decided right bottom would work best.

I printed “In a sea of Grey” in grey and then trimmed it down, I decided to go with the girl with the plaid rose tinted glasses, I thought that added more pizzazz.

I used the spots and dots embossing folder to give a little more interest and I used my homemade dimensional s to pop the colorful girl, up away from the grey crowd. To finalize it, I stamped the K. Andrew stamp on a small piece of paper (I have to add the stamps worked super) and then attached with the ATG tape gun. I used the imagine machine and the BEST FRIENDS cartridge. If you have paper doll cart you could do the same thing. I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. Please leave a comment on Kristal and my blog by July 17th 11:59 p.m, for a chance to win the stamp set.

MONDAY( PST/TUESDAY(EST)- Celebrate The Occasion Challenge #22 and DT call

Here it is again Team #2's week to design for CELEBRATE the OCCASION  http://celebratetheoccasion.blogspot.com/2011/07/challenge-22.html   (CLICK HERE) The theme this week is: Christmas in July with a shaped card.  I always thought round and square were shapes-- I didn't do a sock shape or a mitten shape, which would have been kind of fun, but I liked this shape and I wanted to use the Christmas cards cartridge, another one of those under-used cartridges that I own.  I like the way it came out, a bit on the traditional side, but  now I have some cards done ahead of time.  I was really hoping my new cartridge would have come in before the deadline of this design so I could have used it.  I checked and it will be delivered today.  There is always another challenge.  This challenge is open to all of you until 11:59 on July 17th. Please click on the link above to go and check out all the other designers and leave them a comment. Also, today is the last day for the DT call.  All the info is at CTO
Christmas cards cartridge
My minds eye paper
the sentiment is from Quick kutz dies

Oh guess what the mail was really really late today --- Like after dinner , but I managed to make this shaped card 1/2 hour before final viewing.  It fits in an A2 card  envelope I also used the quick kutz die for the sentiment

I hope you are all having a great evening, Thanks for coming and visiting my blog
Hugs, DIANA L.
