Hi Friends,

I have one challenge closing in a few hours.  Giving you the heads up!

I sometimes make a project for a specific challenge and then I forget to enter it -- so just in case you were thinking of entering, I thought I would give you a gentile reminder.

I just got back in town a couple of hours ago You all know the drill, I am sure, unpack, wash clothes, put the luggage away, get fed---(again).

I have no turkey leftovers--- because the dinner was at my MIL's.
Wednesday night DH and I took everyone out for dinner. Thanksgiving day  my SIL Jen did the Turkey dinner-she did a great job!! I did  the pie and the rolls. (and the whip cream)
The next day I cooked the dinner which was easy, because it was a reheat of Jen's.  I still got the accolades.
We had such a wonderful time. I really embrace family time, because you just never know...........

My B-I-L's term "TURKEY COMA" after eating the turkey is justified by the following statement

"Turkey does contain L-tryptophan, an essential amino acid with a documented sleep inducing effect. L-tryptophan is used in the body to produce the B-vitamin, niacin. Tryptophan also can be metabolized into serotonin and melatonin, neurotransmitters that exert a calming effect and regulates sleep. However, L-tryptophan needs to be taken on an empty stomach and without any other amino acids or protein in order to make you drowsy. There's lots of protein in a serving of turkey and it's probably not the only food on the table."

I am glad to be home and I will try to get some visiting in.

Ps. I know my linky was not working right for the last challenge, but there was nothing I could do with it, seeing as I had no computer access. I fixed it and you should be able to enter the challenge with no problem now.

I am sorry I have not been visiting  you all much, but I have been gone a lot of the month and then when I am here, it is doing laundry and then packing for the next trip. Looking forward to this being in the past.

FEBRUARY 8, 2012***WEDNESDAY*** GOING HOME

Good Morning Friends,

We said good bye to the last of the family last night and we are the only family members still here. We miss them already.

I'm in the room sipping a Starbucks coffee, just finished the "SUDUKO" from the USA today paper, and getting ready to pack bags for our later departure.
I learned something new here that I will share with you later. It has to do with a chocolate chip.

I really haven't figured out yet how to put a photo on to my touch pad without a computer.  I will do it later when I get home.

FEBRUARY 6, 2012***MONDAY*** IN NEVADA

Good evening Friends,
I'm in Nevada visiting with family.
Someone asked me if there is ever any time I am not crafting? Right Now!
Won't be back to my art room until very late Wed.
I have my touch pad with me but I won't be able to upload any pics until I get home.

Super bowl was a lot of fun! There were over 2,000 people at the party.

FRIDAY MORNING- This is a glimps of last years Christmas Tea

 Hi Friends,

Every year at my church we have a Christmas tea.  The women that choose to hostess a table, decorate it however they like and if a hostess wants to give gifts that is OK to, each table is so different. This year I am not decorating a table, because of the art exhibit. The hostess decorates and then after the tea takes everything home with her to wash.  Could you imagine all those women in one small kitchen trying to wash and dry their dishes to take home.   Oh my goodness, I think there would be more breakage.

Above is the Christmas card that I made for each of my guests last year  and in stead of bringing my fine china, I chose to decorate dishes and mugs.  This was my gift to my guests.  My thought on this was, I would save having to bring all the dishes home and washing them, thinking it would be much easier right ? Wrong
These dishes were sitting around for a couple of weeks while the decoupage dried.  After the decoupage dried I was really pleased.  I also made the runner and the napkins.
As I recall I used George and basic shapes for the gold circle and the square in the center of the plates. I used a sizzix texture folder for the stars on the star. I know I used a sizzix die for the scallop in the center of the plate.
<----  excuse my thermos I need the real deal, leaded coffee, they serve decaf at the tea (I guess they don't want to get us too wound up, it is exciting enough being at the tea)





There are 50 tables to decorate. The tea is Friday night (which is the one I will be attending tonight), Saturday morning and then Saturday night.

 This was the stage set-up for last years performance.

 I started to go around and take a picture of each table, but then I decided to just enjoy the moment.

Then Guess who?  yes DL.ART  this is me Diana, not the avatar.  I will have a good time tonight and let you all know how it went tomorrow.

Yesterday was super weather was 64 and sunny. Both my brothers looked great and got back in the early evening and had dinner with nephews and their families and sis B-i-l and mom Today is suppose to be 66. I'll try to post something later.

MONDAY-EVENING LONG DAY

Doing my first post from my touch pad. THANK YOU FOR YOU PRAYERS!!!
Just got my Mother-in-law home from the hospital.  She is sleeping peacefully.
I brought my gypsy and baby bug with me and after I fix dinner I'm hoping to at least work on some designs. So I can upload them when I get home.
Sweet Magnolia rose site has been down since Friday due to a storm. That is the news for now.

SATURDAY-Afternoon

Hi Friends,

After I got home from the art reception last night.  We got a call that my Mother in law had gone into emergency, after 7 doctors and eleven hours of testing they decide to admit her in the hospital at 1:30 am. I'm going to try to get a few cards done, and post.  I won't have access to my art room for awhile after tomorrow so I will just be able to visit you all and leave comments on your work  and leave posts with no art.  Please keep her in your prayers

FRIDAY- MORNING--guest spot reminder!!!

I'm off to spend some time with a friend I have not seen in a while and then off to the gym It has been awhile going to my gym since they changed owners.  I'll be back to let you know what has happened and to enter a few challenges.  Looking forward to seeing all your work too.  I just got that HP touch pad and just found out HP is going to be dropping the WEB OS , because they don't want to compete with I-pad-- What do you think should I get the I-pad and return the HP???  Just a reminder-- I have a guest Designer spot over at My Sheri crafts-- Be sure to check it out.

I spent a lot of time yesterday, working on some designs and I had one completed that worked for a couple of challenges, on my gypsy when the battery went dead. I lost the whole thing.  I have it fresh in my mind now. So tomorrow I will have to get it all set up again.  I will post something in the late morning and then probably again in the afternoon.  I should have some time to come visit in the evening.

This week has flown by.  Yesterday I got a wooden stamp and some Bling in the mail (from one of my winnings)that I will probably use later today to make a sweet card.
