Good Morning Friends ,
Another post, yes, I have a little extra time, and I probably should be doing something else, but I have some creative ideas going right now and I just want to go with them. I am sure you all know how that goes. As you can see I am still working with the scrap- 5 -1/4 sheets and and see how much I can get out of it that will work well together as a set when I am finished.
I meet with a group of friends on Wednesdays, and have done for quite a few years, we call ourselves the knit-wits. We started out as 8 and we have grown to approx 35. Everything we knit while together is either donated or sold at our annual boutique and 100% of the sales go to help people in our community and around the world. It has been very exciting especially to receive thanks in song from children in an orphanage in Soweto. We also recive letters from local families who have been helped and hugs in person. It is very touching, although we do not do it for any type of praise. We are blessed by knowing other peoples lives have been made better through our small efforts. We also take care of each other, if anyone in our group needs help, we are always there for each other. I could not imagine life without my knit-wit friends.
I was pretty excited when I got this stampset from PTI it is all about knitting. It looks like I might be making all the tags for our next sale. Usually we have about 600 items for sale, I better get busy now.

Hi Diana, I love all of the yarn projects you have made. The sentiments are fun. My mom knits all of the time. I just sent a package of scarfs to St. Anthonys. She makes clothes for teddy bears and donates them to children charities
ReplyDeleteKatie, I love hearing stories like that because I know first hand how grateful children are when they recieve these handmade knitted items from strangers.
DeleteDiana, this is so amazing and so awesome to hear. You have touched many people by being involved AND your right, where we we be without our friends-I couldn't imagine my life without them either...so thankful for you to my sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
