Hi Friends,

I am finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.  I got all my orders filled and I am working on getting some projects done ahead of time. We have our usual summer fog back and life is good.  I am popping in to see a bunch of friends today that are all working on "dress a girl".  A group of women that  get together and sew dresses for girls and they (the dresses) go all over the world.  NO, I am not adding this to my list of things to join, because my cup is full enough.  I did want to check in to say hi to my friends and lend a bit of support.

Here are some (same basic card I just made a bunch of them) of the birthday cards I made for  my ETSY store.

I used the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and die cut the cupcake and banner, stamped and colored them using CTMH Hollyhock markers, Pear and chocolate ink

 I just love these markers- 2 for $5.95 what a deal and they work as nicely as my other markers. You know which ones I am talking about.

I stamped a sentiment inside the card also using the hollyhock ink.

I am the guest designer over at Decorate to celebrate this week, I am so excited, I get to design with some of my favorite blogger friends and super designers. Last week my sister graduate from a 2 year college and got a nursing certificate about 6 months ago. I made this banner for her. Below is the card that I had made for her last week, to go with this banner. The banner are the school colors, I like the simplicity of it.

I used AC card stock for the black, white and gray, the red is from my  CTMH store "free as a bird"
and the ribbon is from my stash. I cut these out using the pretty pennant's cricut cartridge. I also used Art Philosophy for the lettering one of my new favorite alphabets.

Hi Friends,


When I was at the scrapbook expo I picked up this Graphics 45 stamp and die set, clocks, for some unbelievably low low price. I am now using it, I love how this came out.  I think this card could be used for many things. I do think it has a very masculine look to it and that is why I went with the darker colors also. I think if I used pink or a brighter color It would look more girly

I embossed the clock face with the die and  die cute the hands, gosh it sounds almost human, doesn't it??  I used  stampers select white, classic craft and ripe avocado patterned paper card stock and 

I wanted the timeless to stand out even more so I put a shadow behind it by cutting the timeless die in the ripe avocado and backing the stamped image.  I really like how this card came out.

I finally got a chance to make a FCC and Mojo project at the same time I think it has been months since I got to do this.  Here it is I used Basic Grey Lucille and the cap and tassel are printed from bubble gum stripes.. Class of 2014 is written with Sakura gel  pen . I used the wild card cartridge to cut out the cap and tassel.

Well,  I sent this card to my sister she graduated last Thursday and I sent her something else from the "Free to be me paper pack"  which you will see soon.  I am the Guest Designer for Decorate to Celebrate on Wednesday May 28th. Here is a recap on my card ...

I love how this came out.I used the layout from page 38 in the "Originals" card confidence program book. I also used the Free to be me paper pack, which is $5 this month (National scrapbooking month) with a qualifying purchase of $50. you can also get the stamp of the month for $5 with the same purchase. The stamp I used is the Stamp of the month for May 2014. There are 5 really cool images on the set that are similar to this one. If you like the look of chalk board art, these will work really well, I will share some of those ideas later. You can also get the stamp of the month for $5.00 along with the Free to be me Paper pack a nearly $20.00 savings. For the layout I followed the pattern on page 38 of the CTMH originals book. For the hearts I used the stamp set from the skylark WOTG (workshops on the go) and the mini pigment ink hollyhock.and stamped it on PTI basic white card stock. For the "You are the best", I used black ink and then colored it in with the Hollyhock marker pens. I have to say these pens are awesome.  For those of you who want to try them you can order them here. They are $5.95 and you get a set of two they coordinate with the inks and papers. You can not refill them like some others, but at his price, they are a super deal. I am really impressed with these pens. Check out the close up they are very uniform and consistent.

I used a technique with the hearts called generational stamping, that is where you use the ink on the stamp without re-inking it before you stamp on the paper again. That is why you will see some areas lighter than others.  It is intentional.

Good Morning friends,
I hope you are enjoying this Memorial day weekend.

You've got a friend in me. My card base is PTI classic kraft,  and tropical teal prints underneath the water color paper . The stamps I used are from CTMH Ivy lane card making kit and  the May stamp of the month set from Close to my heart You've got a friend. I used saddle and Lagoon ink from CTMH and the funny thing as I watercolor effect-ed them ( is hat a word?) the thinning of the ink gave a melon kind of color and the thinning of the lagoon gave it an aqua hue. I stamped on top of the colonial white and inked the edges with saddle ink, then added it to the card with 3-D foam tape, then I used a pearl pen in ice white to certain areas
of the stamped lowers

Hi Friends,--- Welcome to the Mini Friendship blog hop

It is really a mini blog hop, but a BIG friendship

On my way back from Michigan, My layover was in Phoenix, when I told my friend Carri (aka Abusy-bee), hoping we could meet up, She said "We have to get together".  I only had an hour and 15 minutes between flights, but I said I really want to do it, if the logistics work out. My flight leaving Detroit was delayed and would be arriving in Phoenix 20 minutes later than planned.  I was still hopeful that we could still meet, even if it was for only 10 minutes. Once on the plane I kept watching the flight status. Our pilot made up 10 minutes which was in our favor. When I got off the plane, I checked my flight status for my departure flight to San Jose and it was delayed by 20 minutes. YEAH!!! Departure was in our favor, we could spend nearly 40 minutes together. My flight would be leaving the same gate, so I knew all I had to do was go through security and retrace my steps . Once I got to the area where I could see about 100 yards ahead of me I could see Carri waving, I waved back and it was just a few short minutes before we gave each other hugs, like we have known each other our whole life. I also got to meet my other two friends, her daughters Megan and Brea. They are both so adorable and sweet and look like mini Carri's.  Carri also brought me a Starbucks iced coffee Yum-- I needed that it was so refreshing, she also gave me some skittles and some enamel dots.  Do you like the enamel dots? She told me how long it takes to make these, I think  that was reason enough for me to buy them from her in the future.  I wished we lived closer  we could have so much more crafty fun. I am glad we have the blog and the phone. It was one of the highlights of my year.

Ps. I was the last person on the plane and then they closed the door right behind me,  Whew- I might have been spending the night in AZ.

I know I hardly ever do layouts. I signed up for layout a day class for May and this is the first one I have made. At the time I did not realize I would be gone for the first 10 days in May and then I needed a week to catch up. I say one layout is better than none.  Do you agree?   Hopefully I will get a few more made, but because this is memorial weekend coming up I thought it would be fitting to make a memorial or at least a red, white and blue layout.  Lets remember all of those that died for us yesterday so we could have the freedoms we enjoy today.
 It was really touching, when I was in Michigan, one of my uncles had on a veterans hat, with all kinds of pins on it. I told him I really liked his hat and he got a little teary eyed and said, "I wear it for all the ones that didn't make it back".  He is a very patriotic, nice and kind man.

Hello Friends,

Another Monday, and life is good our temps are back in the normal high 60's low 70's. I have to say those 100 degree days really are tough to take.  Most people in our area do not have air conditioning, because we normally have a sea breeze going and the few days, if any in the year the temps are very comfortable.  Hopefully that was it for this year.

I have tons of birthdays in the family in May, so you will be seeing a lot of birthday cards this month.

Here is one I made this morning. Watercolor backgrounds seem to be real popular right now. For this card I used PTI Classic Kraft, terracotta tile and CTMH Lagoon. The water color paper I used is 90# Strathmore.  I really prefer 300# WC paper, but for cards the weight of the 90# is best for my needs. The button is from my ETSY store and the twine is from my stash. Card stock is recollections and PTI stamp set is PTI "beautiful Blooms".

Do these colors really say Happy Birthday?  Are you going to give the water color background a try?

Hi Friends,
Our DT sister Jayne chose the challenge this week to create a gift package.  Wouldn't you know it, I needed a package to put a gift in, so this is what a made, a gable box. It is so adorable.  The flowers are made from Basic Grey, after I formed them I inked the edges with colors that matched the paper.  The box and tag are cut from the Artiste cartridge using recollections paper, and the twine is from my ETSY store
