FIRE FIRE FIRE- 

This fire started on August 16 

We evacuated on the 21st from the CZU Lightning fire. Santa Cruz/San Mateo 

We did not take a whole lot of items with us. 

We will be checking on our home today, but will not move back in for a few days. 

With the new format of blogger and just the use of my tablet, and no craft supplies with me this post is difficult to write.

 Right now the fire in our area is 21% contained. 

there are 81,3330 acres burned 

530 buildings destroyed, mostly in Santa Cruz, as of yesterday, 11 were in San Mateo 

Check back later I'll have the linky and a guessing game and hopefully a project.

Linky is there now. I will stop by our home to finish this post and check on things and then keep updating this as we go along.

Welcome to Week #2

DL.ART Thankful Thursday 

Challenge #265  "Birthday"  

Hi Everyone,

   Well this is Birthday month, so many birthdays this month hard to believe, I am glad they keep coming though. Even though we can not go out to eat and sit in a restaurant. We did go out for ice cream.  In honor of my mom giving birth to me I had her favorite ice cream - Butter pecan. It was really a nice day, perfect temperature and they had tables set up outside, so we sat and enjoyed the treat.

It was interesting watching people, some were wearing masks and some were not, but everyone seemed to put them on before they went into stores. I never dreamed I would be talking about masks in 2020 and being in the middle of a pandemic. 

My question for you --- What are you talking about now that you would have never dreamed of talking about prior to Covid-19?????

Day 158, Good news we found out that August 28th we will possibly have indoor dining open up again and shopping malls,  However they are going to close the beaches for Labor day weekend. 1456 confirmed cases and now 7 Covid 19- deaths and 420 recoveries.

Wow we have had one crazy week, hottest temps on record it was 108 on Sunday,  Tuesday we had Thunder and lighting storms that lasted nearly 8 hours, wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour, rain coming in every window in the house that was opened, it felt like we were in a tornado. Now we are on alert that we may have to evacuate due to the fires that were caused by the lightning, 10,000 acres in our county have burned and 15,000 acres in Monterey county. I am not afraid, but I have to say 2020 has been the strangest year I have ever lived.

On to a happier note. This is birthday month. In fact, today is my God sons birthday, happy birthday Jim. However one of my nieces shares my birthday so I made this card for her.

Day 151, we are back to square two Shelter in Place.  In our county you can only shop for essentials and take-out food, no more opened restaurants. 1352 confirmed cases and now 6 Covid 19- deaths.

I used AG die cut, AC card stock and dies. The Happy Birthday from AG the  cartridge crinkle.
