Welcome to
DL.ART Thankful Thursday
Challenge #256 "Dogs and/or Puppies"

Hello  Everyone,

This is a sneak peak of my dog card. It is from a kit by basic grey, one of my many favorite paper companies,  which is sadly no longer in the paper business. When they were going out of business I bought a fairly large grab bag package from them. There were about five kits in there as I recall and a bunch of random packs of paper large and small. There were also brads and other embellishments.

I think the card is just adorable. what do you think?

We are 10 days into the shelter in place order now. I have stayed away from shopping. David (the hubs) has been venturing out. The sad thing is only 1/3 of what is on the list is brought back. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better and then he will not have to go back out for a few weeks. We do take daily walks out doors, which is nice even though we have had rain (desperately needed) for the last few days.

I am  curious, How is it going in your area with CO-VID 19, and do you feel prepared?  what are you doing to be prepared?

Good Evening Blogger Friends

Doesn't this verse Ecclesiastes 3:1  just speak to you? I know you probably thought it was a Simon & Garfunkel song, it is that to, but not original words by those two great song writers. I thought this was a good time to share a verse that I like and a lot of times I say when one door closes another opens-- I did not make that up, I heard that somewhere, but I did make this card and it is a positive/ negative and one card on top of another the top card opens on the right and the bottom card opens from the bottom. How cool is that I kind of made it up, I may have seen it somewhere, but not anywhere that I can remember.
The card was a lot of fun. The theme is form Stampin' sisters in Christ challenge and that is the verse they are using this week.

I'm joining in their challenge with this card

I used Tim Holtz clock die
PTI paper and cardstock
Basic Grey paper
sentiment from the Bible printed from computer
stitching with copic marker

Hi Everyone,

I was trying to do something with my computer and somehow I lost the ability to watch You Tube through Mozilla Firefox.  I can watch it on my touch pad and I can watch it through Google chrome

I have no idea what I did. I know I was installing  something and it asked me some questions. The next thing I know I have all kinds of pop ups.

That is what I get when I try to do something when I'm not feeling up to par.  I also  set up  the voice recognition that was installed on my computer. It really hurts to type  right now.  Last night was the first night I was able to sleep in an almost reclined position

Have you ever had one of those cartridges that you absolutely had to have and then when you got it you hardly used it.???.... I'm sure you have.  When I first got Kate's ABC's I just knew I would use it a lot, well, not the case. I love the images, but they have so many layers and it is very time consuming to put one image together. Although , after they are put together they are awesome because of all the layering

I have been wanting to use this hat image ever since I got the cartridge and I even left out one of the layers, and I think it still looks good.  The hat is from page 26  I left out the shift layer 1 image. I was thinking of using one more patterned paper, but as it was I already used 5 patterns, and I wanted it to look as CAS as possible.

It was perfect for the Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge Fashion and I also followed the MOJO sketch challenge

Who do you Love?

Hi Again,

Here is a card I made for a few posts.
I used this sentiment from "Word Art Wednesday" . My friend Karen has invited me to enter a couple of times and I download the sentiment and then somehow forget that the challenge ends the day I start to work on it.  This time I think I will have time to enter it.
My neighbor walked with me today to be there in case I fell.  She also brought us dinner last night and has been checking on me. Nice to know people care. I must be addicted to art and design, because even though it hurts, I want to continue. This is it for tonight. I will design in my head. I will go ice now.  See you soon thanks for stopping by.

I bought this great 6x6 pack of basic grey "mellow" paper pack a couple of years ago. I just love it but never really thought to use it I just liked looking at it. The images are so small and cute. I pulled it out and said today is the day--- which got me thinking of a song Today is day--- I will rejoice and be glad in it.  That is how I came about doing this card and the inspiration behind it.

I hope you enjoy it.

Good Afternoon Friends,

Well it is 85 degrees here today very nice. A perfect day I made this card yesterday it is the 1st one that I used my gypsy on since the format.  It seems to work pretty well, the first two images did not cut so, I trimmed them myself. I will see how my next design goes.

There are a  lot of Fathers day/manly cards floating around  right now, that is why I will leave the challenge entries up at the top of my posts to make it easier for you to find them

My friend Georgiana over at Carson's creation drew this sketch that I am using and it is the sketch for the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge. I really like this sketch, I decided to turn mine sideways, to use it for a horizontal card.

I used Basic grey and the imagine more cart for the patterned papers,
the sentiment is from TCP stamps faithful sayings. The ink is Jenni Bowlin maple sugar

TUESDAY - CELEBRATE THE OCCASION- Sketch Challenge #28

This is going to be so much fun!!!! We have a sketch challenge for you.  Make sure you go by and see all the designers work and be sure and link up your  own project by Sunday September 4th @ 11:59 pm EST, so that you may have a chance at our monthly drawing  at CTO

I used white card stock as my base this card is 4.25x4.25 (it will fit in a standard A2 size envelope)
I cut a piece of Basic grey patterned paper 4.25x2.25, I then ATG'ed (I made this word up, and I like it) it down.
I used extreme adhesive to hold the ribbon, I then stamped in the corner with an Inkadinkadoo stamp Happy Birthday using Jenni Bowlin "soap powder", I just love the names she gives her colors. I then used "chicken Feed" for the Stampendous butterfly.  I used a white sakura gel pen for the stitching on the top and a blue whispers /strokes pen on the bottom.

To check out all the other designers go to CTO

Constructive criticism on my card from me

This was my first attempt, I was not real happy with how this card came out, but I thought I would share it with you any way. On the right side at the bottom I was using a template and my ink bled and spread underneath, so I thought if I used stickles I could cover it up, it didn't work.  The card stock I used was a textured Bazzill and the stamp did not look crisp it also looked like it puddled within the texture of the cardstock.  The colors were ok, but it just didn't look cheerful enough to me to be a birthday card. Now you have my take on my mistake -- I always learn from mistakes-- I hope this sheds some light for you, before you make this mistake.  Oh yes it is a 6X6 which is difficult to find envelopes for unless you make your own.  Postage is always more on this size card.

I did not use a cricut for this card - It seems strange when I don't.
I also entered this in FBW (Click Here)
I entered this in My Craft Spot (Click Here)
